I want to explore Korea by car... but what do I need?
Every great Korean road trip starts with one essential document...
Koro Guide
Don't worry! I'll show you exactly how to get your International Driving Permit.
It's easier than you think!
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is a translation of your driver's license into multiple languages.
It's recognized in over 150 countries, including South Korea!
What You'll Need
Valid License
Your home country driver's license
2 Photos
Passport-style photos (2x2 inches)
Application
Completed IDP application form
~$20 Fee
Payment for processing
Check Your Eligibility
Before anything else, make sure you meet the basic requirements. You need to be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license from your home country.
Your license must be valid for at least 6 more months!
Pro Tip
Always carry BOTH your IDP AND your original license when driving in Korea!
The IDP is a translation, not a replacement. Police may ask for both.
Gather Your Documents
Get everything ready before visiting the issuing office. This will make the process smooth and quick!
Pro tip: Some photo shops offer IDP photo packages!
