Everland draws over 6 million visitors a year, making it Korea's most popular theme park. Right next door, Caribbean Bay is the country's largest outdoor water park — the kind of place where you could easily spend an entire summer day without running out of things to do. The catch: public transit from Seoul takes 90 minutes each way. Drive yourself and you'll be there in under an hour.
The drive from central Seoul takes 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. Take Expressway 1 (Gyeongbu Expressway) south toward Suwon, exit at Suwon IC, then follow Route 42 east toward Yongin. Alternatively, use Expressway 400 (Seoul-Sejong) and exit at Giheung IC for a more direct southern approach. Both routes feed into Everland Road — your GPS will handle it seamlessly using the address 199 Everland-ro, Pogok-eup, Yongin.
Highway tolls from Seoul run approximately 3,000–5,000 KRW each way. Parking at the park costs 15,000 KRW per day in the main underground lot — arrive before 9:30 AM on weekends to get a good spot. Peak summer weekends fill up fast. If the main lot is full, surface parking lots further out have free shuttles.

Everland is divided into themed zones spread across a large hillside property — think a mid-sized European theme park with excellent Korean hospitality. The undisputed star attraction is the T-Express, a wooden roller coaster with a 77-degree incline and speeds up to 104 km/h. It's consistently ranked among Asia's top coasters, and the queues on summer weekends can hit 90–120 minutes. If T-Express is your priority, head there the moment the park opens.
Beyond the coasters, Everland's Zoo-Topia animal section is home to Hui Bao (후이바오) and Rui Bao (루이바오) — Korea's first naturally-born giant pandas, delivered in July 2023. The twin cubs went viral globally and remain the park's most beloved attraction. Book the zoo viewing slot online before you arrive; it sells out on weekends. The Safari World drive-through animal section — actual lions, tigers, and bears roaming near your tram — is the other must-do.

Caribbean Bay occupies a massive complex adjacent to Everland. The outdoor section — wave pools, river rides, and 30+ slides — is open from June through September, perfectly timed for Korea's hot summers. On a scorching July day, this is where you want to be. The indoor section stays open year-round with heated pools and spa facilities, but the summer outdoor experience is in a different league.
The Wave Pool holds thousands of people and generates ocean-level swells every 20 minutes — genuinely surprising if you're not expecting it. The Wild River lazy river circles the entire outdoor section and is where most families spend their time. Thrill-seekers should head to the Giant Tower slides, which feature near-vertical drops with clear tube sections over the park below.

If you're visiting in June through August, Caribbean Bay wins for a full-day summer experience — especially with kids who love water. If you're visiting outside summer or want rides, shows, and animals, Everland is the clear choice. Many visitors combine both in a single day using the Resort Combo Ticket, which gives access to both parks. The combo is only practical if you start very early (Everland from 10 AM, switch to Caribbean Bay by 2 PM).
Lotte World, in central Seoul, is the other major option — it's accessible by subway and has an indoor theme park open year-round. But Lotte World is significantly smaller than Everland and lacks the outdoor scale. If you have a rental car and want the full Korean theme-park experience, Everland is the destination.
Buy tickets online before you go — both parks offer 10–20% discounts versus gate prices and let you skip the ticket queue entirely. Print or download your tickets. Major Korean travel apps like Naver Pay and Kakao Pay often offer additional coupon discounts stacked on top of the regular online price, so check before purchasing.
Plan your departure time carefully. Leaving Everland after the summer fireworks (around 10:00–10:30 PM) means you'll hit the peak post-show traffic jam. Either leave 30 minutes before fireworks end or plan to wait 45 minutes in the parking lot. Weekday visits in July–August are noticeably less crowded — wait times drop from 90 minutes to under 30 minutes on the major rides.

Everland and Caribbean Bay together are the kind of day that earns lifelong bragging rights for Korea trips. Rent a car, leave Seoul early, and enjoy the fact that you got there in half the time everyone else did.
